Hello and welcome, my name is Janell.  I am the proud mom of two amazing girls, ages 15 and 6, and working mom, but I was previously a stay-at-home mom for many years, so I understand the struggles of finding time for oneself as a mother, as a wife/partner, and as a single mom.  I have a B.A. in Human Development and am a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor.  I have recently made the decision to dedicate myself to helping other women pursue their own health and fitness goals.  The joy of motivating and helping people has been one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had.


I knew from a very young age that my mission in life was to help people.  I have always been fascinated with the human body and the amazing things it is capable of.  When I was a very young child I often spent hours reading my mom's human anatomy book that she kept on the bookshelf, just for fun.  To this day, I am still fascinated.  I truly believe that the human body (and life itself) is nothing short of a miracle.


My struggles with weight began in elementary school.  Gaining weight and then dieting was a never-ending vicious cycle for me.  I was a slave to cravings.  I was obsessed with the scale.  The immense guilt and self-hatred that followed every binge-eating episode, every pound gained, every failed attempt to "get skinny" was devastating.  I felt worthless when I didn't adequately live up to what society had been telling me I should be ever since I was a young girl - beautiful and skinny.


My fitness journey began about a year after my second daughter was born.  On the outside I was the heaviest I had ever been, and on the inside I was absolutely miserable.  It started out as a mission to lose the baby weight, and of course, "get skinny."  But to my surprise, it became so much more than that.  For the first time in my life, I dropped the all-or-nothing mentality I had previously had about diet and exercise.  I stayed consistent with my workouts.  I stopped spiraling out of control when I ate something unhealthy or when I missed a workout.  I stopped weighing myself.  As my body made changes, my focus went from being "skinny" to being "healthy and strong."  Showing up for myself every day and the confidence that naturally occurred with it was astonishing. I kept surprising myself with what I was capable of with each passing workout, day, week, and month.  The outside transformation of my body was great, but the transformation that took place inside my heart and soul is what inspired me to want to help other women on their fitness journeys.


So here I am.  I am here to help you find out just how capable and strong you are, and show you that everything you need is already inside of you.

Making time for yourself is challenging. I get it. As a busy working mom, I completely understand the challenges women face.  I know what it feels like to lack time and energy, deal with cravings, struggle with hormonal issues and mental health, and not see results after working so hard.  I discovered my passion and my calling in health and fitness after I had struggled with it my entire life.  By helping women like you make your health a priority and providing the support you need to get through the unique challenges you face, I help you become the best version of yourself, one step at a time.  Helping fellow women gain confidence and discover their strength and power has been the absolute most rewarding experience of my life (aside from being a mom to two amazing girls, of course).
